The Avanti Hospitals are preparing for the implementation McKesson’s Paragon electronic medical record (EMR) in June 2012. The Paragon EMR will bring many clinical and operational improvements to Memorial Hospital of Gardena, including seamless physician access to patient information.

As with any new computer system, this will also require many changes for our employees. To help MHG’s staff prepare for the new system, Avanti is conducting extensive testing and user training throughout April, May and June. Overall, our staff is excited about the change and looking forward to incorporating the use of Paragon into their daily workflows. While the first few days with the new system may create some bumps in the road and issues, the Hospital teams are working together to ensure that patient care is not impacted during this transition.

In the coming months, MHG will share more on how the Paragon EMR is helping our physicians and our caregivers provide high quality, efficient care for our patients.
